Answer #1

There were the three titrations carried out:

Case 1. Strong acid with strong base (Strong acid reacts with a strong base to form a neutral solution of pH = 7 at equivalence point.)

Case 2. Weak acid with a strong base (Weak acid reacts with a strong base to form a basic solution of pH > 7 at equivalence point.)

Case 3. Weak base with a strong acid (Weak base reacts with a strong acid to form an acidic solution of pH < 7 at equivalence point.)

First try to identify the three titration curves based on the above concept.

Secondly,

If we compare the three curves, we found that the curve (pH vs Volume of titrant) start from top side (at pH > 7) for case 3 (Weak base with a strong acid), whereas the curve (pH vs Volume of titrant) start from bottom side (pH < 7) for case 1 as well as for case 2. If you compare case 1 curve with case 2 curve you found that It start from the less pH value for case 1 ( since acid is strong) in comparison to case 2.

The typical curve for case 1 and case 2:

pH of the Analyte Solution ºf Stronauid- stress bus Volume of Titrant Added

The typical curve for case 3:

+ EQUIVALENCE POINT 5 30 354 पर VOLUME OF HE Cml)

can someone help me answer these 5 questions and figire this graph out please? Acid-Base Titration of a Weak Acid with a Strong Base: Determination of K. Introduction: You will be titrating a solution of a weak acid with 0.100 M NaOH, while monitoring the reaction using a pH meter. Weak acids have characteristic acid-ionization constants, K. The purpose of this lab is to use the titration to determine the value of this constant for the weak acid called “benzoic...

Describe how you expect the pH of your weak acid solution to change when strong base is slowly added to it. When making this description, assume you have a monoprotic acid. Use the terms half-equivalence point and equivalence point in this discussion. How would the titration curve of a diprotic...

In this experiment, you will identify an unknown weak acid by titration with standardized base. This lab takes place in two parts, which you can do in either order: 1. Standardization of a sodium hydroxide solution to find its actual concentration (approximately 0.1 M) 2. Titration of the weak acid with the sodium hydroxide solution. You won't know if your acid is monoprotic (HA), diprotic (H2A), or triprotic (H3A). a.) Indicate how you would differentiate between the three different types...
