Quality of research is evaluated by using the concept of validity and reliability. Reliability is all about the consistency of measure whereas the validity  is about the accuracy.

In the 1st image all the black dots are scattered and also not near to the centre point. It means the they are not consistent and accurate.

The second image is unreliable since the dots are scattered but some of them are near to the centre point which means it is valid.

In the third image all the dots are adjacent so that they are very consistent and reliable but they are not near to the centre point, which means they are not accurate or valid.

The third image has followed both the rule of reliability and validity. The dots are adjacent as well as near to the centre point.

It is important to ensure the validity and reliability in a research. They depend on the strong research design. The validity should be assessed in very early stages of research. It is important to use appropriate sampling methods to select the subject. At the same time reliability should be considered throughout the data collection process. Apply the methods consistently and standardise the conditions of research.
