Most claims by administration or other competent authorities is and must be subject to testing. Economists call this hypothesis testing which are a set of assumptions which may or may not be eventfully true while conducting the overall experiment respectively.

The hypothesis itself represents an idea which then is tested through null and alternative hypothesis and are as explained as follows:-

Null Hypothesis & Alternative and Case Study Example:-

A null hypothesis represents that there is no significant change before or after adoption of the technique and stays neutral in its approach towards the experiment itself. When the experiment conduct leads to contradicting results, the null hypothesis may either be rejected or accepted as is.

An alternative hypothesis on the other hand would mean that the actual experiment is absolutely false and is contradicting in nature

Example:-

A null hypothesis to the claim would be that the anti-breaking system if installed has no significant changes in crash rates when compared with cars that do not install the same.

An alternative hypothesis would be that the anti-breaking system when installed lead to more crashes and deaths.
