Do you think nursing compensation should be based on region? Why or why not?
Nursing is one of the challenging roles in the health care professional who provides a quality of care to the patient by hard work and dedication to the job. When thinks about nursing compensation, it differs from region to region. Almost all are working equally, certain region pays more for nurses than other regions. For ex: the Pacific region pays the highest for the nurses whereas the east south region pays the lowest. In certain states, the remote region nurses are paid higher in addition to the allowances in order to improve healthcare in remote areas. When comparing the nurse's hourly rate, there is only a little difference between the freshers and experienced staff in different regions. Area of specialization and level of experience also play a major role in nursing compensation. Pay rates also differ based on the location of the hospitals (i.e big hospitals in city pay more and hospitals in town pay low). Some of the highest pay states are California, Columbia, Hawaii and lowest pay states are Mississippi, Lowa, Alabama.
