a. Predetermined overhead rate = Total estimated overhead cost / Total setups

Total setups = 10,000 + 40,000 = 50,000

= $100,000 / 50,000

= $2

b. Allocated manufacturing overhead = Predetermined overhead allocation rate X actual tests

= $1 X 2,000

= $2,000
