RDI and DRV are the two sets of dietary standards by which DVs are based .

RDI - is recommeded daily intake . It is the average daily intake level of a particular nutrient that is likely to meet the nutrient requirement of 97-98% of healthy individuals.

DRV - is dietary reference value . It is the estimate of amount of energy and nutrients needed by different groups of healthy people .

Benefits of MyPlate and keeping track of diet are :-

- it provides knowledge for the professionals to assess the nutritional status of patients.

- it helps in preventing many diseases mainly cardiovascular diseases, stroke ,etc .
