7.The foods which has to be considered are

  • The effectiveness of ciprofloxacin canndecresaed if any milk or milk products are taken
  • Its effectiveness can also be decreased when it is taken along with the calcium supplements at the same time
  • Alcohol should be always avoided

8.The perineal hygiene after bowel movement or micturation is very important to prevent transmission of infection into the urinary tract . The right method to clean is from front to back .In simple less contaminated area to more contaminated area on order to prevent I infection.

9.Restraints can be applied only after consent from patient and or family members along with the physician order to prevent self injury or injury to others. Otherwise it cannot be applied .Inform the aide that first it  has to be explained to the patient if they are in sound mind. If the patient is uncooperative then the relative can be asked to stay along with them. When this two measures fails only ttem a wrist restraint can be applied.

10.The aide has to be instructed regarding the following when providing basic care

  • Use personal protective equipments to prevent infection
  • Monitor the number of bowel movements, frequency and the of stool
  • Dispose the diapers if used in the right bin.
