The measurement scale of a random variable "temperature in degrees" is "interval scale.

So that the rates or ratios of the values are irrelevent.

Note that : If we want to increase temperature from 10 to 20 degree celcius then we need less heat than the icrease temperature from 40 to 50 degree celcius.

So that increase temperature twice is meaningless and so Johnny is incorrect.
