Answer #1

US congress through 18th amendment 'Prohibition of alcohol' - to make USA DRY economy for 13 years from 1920 to 1933 resulted into a chaotic society with illegal bars, smuggling, bootleggers etc. and increased the number of bars in the economy. due to this crime rate in USA also increased. This has not improved rather degraded the society. Realizing this, USA government repealed this 18th amendment through 21st amendment.

In order to solve the problem following are the solutions:

1. Increase the prices of the alcohol that will pinch the alcoholic person and reduce the availability of cheap alcohol

2. introduce the Act whereby legalizing beer and wine with an alcoholic content upto desirable percentage of alcohol by volume.

3. launching drug and alcohol recovery programme.

4. initiating campaigns to help individuals to alter their alcoholic behaviour by informing them about the harmful effects of alcohol health.

5. government and industry both should share the responsibility by allowing people to drink within guidelines.
