Answer #1

Q: What potential problems could arise by splitting the process across two individuals?

Most Appropriate responses:
(A) Cost of the order increases
Justification: As the hamburger barn has to now earn enough to be able to pay two employees (instead of one earlier), the price of the goods will have to increased to meet the new expense. Therefore, the cost of the order increases.

(B) Lower utilization while one attendant waits on the other to complete his or her work
Justification: Until the first attendant has collected the order, the second attendant has to wait

(D) Space constraint of two attendants working in the same space

(E) Communication issues cause some orders to be wrong
Justification: As the person taking the order and the person packing the order are not the same person, there is bound to be some gap in communication. Therefore, some orders may end up being wrong.
