Answer #1

a) The test statistic here calculated is Z statistics because the distribution is normal and sample size is greater than 30.

Vn

X is the sample mean and sigma is the standard deviation

Z by formula calculated as

-1.04

b)The p value associated with the calculated Z score computed using Z table shown below.

As 0.2983

C) since the |Z| is less than Z critical and P vakuevis greater than alpha as 0.2983 hence we cannot conclude that mean is different.

d) Using 0.05 as level of significance the critical value of Z is 1.96

Rejection rule:

Reject Ho if Z is lower than the lower critical value and is greater than the upper critical value .

No, we cannot conclude that population mean is not equal to 15

Please find Z tableTable of Standard Normal Probahilities for Negative Z-scores Table of Standard Normal Prolbabilities for Positive Z-scores 13 0848 0633 03 083 0839 0815 30 8385 0S810 0380 09429 19913 0942 0.242, α 027 023 osons a a 3520 Note that the probahilities given in this table represent the area to the L.EFT of the-score The area to the RIGHT ofa z-score 1-the area to the LEFT of the z-score
