Delegation is the assigning of responsibility to another person

In nursing delegation means

Delegate the patient care

Delegate the administration of medication

Delegation of supervision of the patient

Delegating the maintaining records

All these can be includes under the delegation, if a person able to delegate the responsibility to the fellow nurses and the colloquies then it has known that he is good in a supervisory role. The role of supervisor can be defined as the delegated responsibility has to be monitored and evaluated in a proper manner and should not that whether it has going in the good direction

The supervisory nurse should

Understand the problems of the colloquies

Help them when it is needed

Available at any point of time

Should monitor the activity and able to give the feedback for the same.

Delegation and supervising are considered as administrator level duties and should be practiced and experienced in the nursing practice. With theoretical knowledge most of these skills may not be difficult to practice, so it needs experience in the filed of nursing to be good nurse administrator.
