A new graduate RN as a professional carrier transition as a
beginner with no experience in clinical practice they lack in
confidence, safe practice and practicing with a long period for one
practice which they can not care the evidence-based judgment. They
need verbal and physical support to do care.
When they enter the Advance beginner role they have to perform with
the actual situation with skills and knowledge need some supportive
cues.
When they enter to next level competent period nurse will have 2 to
3 years experience and can perform effectively, coordinate and do
anything with confidence. As a competence nurse they plan based on
a conscious level, they can perform evidence-based practice, they
will complete the care within a short period without supporting
cues.
The proficient professional nurse understands and they have a
long-term goal. They will be move with more experience they do
modify with the plan they have a holistic understanding which
improves their decision making power. They will supervise and do
care within time, they overtake many existing attributes and
aspects in the clinical situation as an important one.
Evidence-based practice can improve health care quality, patient
outcome, reliability, it reduces variation in cost and care. It is
a life long problem-solving approach with the best practice which
provides a positive patient outcome. when nurses engaged with
evidence-based practice in health care settings it should perform
with high-value, low-cost, evidence-based health care. As a nurse
to perform with EBP they should be experts in technical skills,
patient and family decision making consideration, problem -solving
skills and able to adopt various environment. competency is
relevant to a holistic context it has many attributes like skills,
knowledge, psychomotor skills... Without these features, competency
cannot be achieved. It improves quality and safety with the best
practice of patient-centered care, EBP, collaboration with team
members, safety, quality improvement, and informatics. To perform
EBP Registered nurse has to practice with a competency that
includes Question practice with improving quality of care using
internal evidence like patient assessment data, outcome and
improvement. Formulating clinical questions using PICOT format(
population, Intervention, comparison, outcomes, Time) using
questions for external evidence. participate in evidence-based
practice culture strategies for improving the quality of care and
patient outcome.
