an error in the diameter or an error in the length of the cyl

D Question 2 Even though you should be careful in all measurements, which will create a bigger error in the calculated volume: an error in the diameter or an error in the length of the cylinder? O length O both will create equal error O diameter Question 3 1 pts A vernier caliper is used to measure: timc diameter Question 4 search

Answer #1

As we knew that volume of cylinder is given by

V=\pi D^2l/4 now assume that error in measurment of diameter is ΔD and in lenght is Δl now by error formula

ΔV/V =2ΔD/D +Δl/l

now we can error in diameter will produce more error in volume so correct answer is diameter

vernier capiller is used to measure the lenght or diameter

So correct answer is diameter

Prepare a table. These are the values I got. 4] Prepare a table for your volume and density measurements. You have to present the volumes and densities for the cylinder calculated using the two instruments. Refer to the tutorial How to prepore a table to know how to prepare a table for the physics labs. Your table should contain columns for the measuring instruments, the volumes (in mm3) and the densities (in kg/m3). Don't forget to incdlude uncertainties! Data sheet...

Error Propagation What is error propagation? A question in error propagation is that when we take a product of measurements we do what with the uncertainties? Should our uncertainties get bigger or smaller as they propagate through the formulas? Take a square and measure one side. What happens to the uncertainties when you calculate Area? Can this be beneficial when our product contains measurements of different units? The rule is to find the relative uncertainty in a product of measurements...

By plotting diameter and circumference data sets, determine an experimental value for pi. The diameters of various cylinders were measured using a Vernier caliper. The corresponding circumference of each cylinder was measured using the method described in the next paragraph. A thin strip of paper was carefully wrapped around the cylinder, and the strip of paper was marked with a pencil at the point where the strip overlapped. The thin strip was unwound, laid flat, and the distance from the...
