The abdominal binders are certain type of bandages made-up of elastic polymers or the cotton and are designed in such a way that it may get easily fit in the body.

They are generally of the rectangular shape as per the shape of the abdomen and to fit around it.

The reason to use the abdominal binder in post-op patient is to support major abdominal incisions like hernia which may be the reason for the stress in the post operative patients during the movement. Thus in this case this support provided by the abdominal binder helps in the healing and enables the patients to move comfortably without any discomfort.

Finally when the binders are placed in the post-op abdominal surgery patients the nursing staff it advised to make the patient sure about its usae and removal and shouls assure that there is no problem to the patient regarding its usage.
