Class 1: the fulcrum is between the effort and resistance. Eg: a seasaw, a crowbar, a pair of scissors. There is a very few example in a human body. It is the force of the triceps at the olecranon.

class 2: here the resistance between effort and fulcrum. Eg. in a wheel barrow, a nut cracker, bottle opener, pedal breaker. Push up excercise is also a class 2 lever type. Here the load arm is smaller than the effort arm so mechanical advantage is greater than one so it is called force multiplier.

Class 3: the effort is between fulcrum and resistance. Eg: a pair of tweezers, a hammer, a jaw, a diving board. In human body the example for this type of lever is biceps brachii acting concentrically on the fore arm.
