Answer: The cholinergics drugs produces similar effects like acetylcholine. It should be taken 30minutes or 1 hour before the meal. This is due to avoid any kind of interaction with the food. The drug may cause diarrhea due time enzyme supression. It causes low absorption of the medication.

The patient teaching is indicated for the patient taking pilocarpine for glaucoma as :

  • Patient should report to the healthcare professional immediately as he experiences irritation, low vision, headache.
  • If patient experiences chest tightness, he should consult doctor.

Cogentin is commonly prescribed for patients taking phenothiazines because cogentin reduce the symptoms causes by the Parkinson's disease which includes low muscle control, muscle stiffness etc.
