yes, vector way is an excellent way, the law of addition of vectors had a large number of applications.

that too for 2D, is very good

the other method is 2D geometry

another method is complex numbers

Pros of vector method: component resolution, cross and dot product concepts

cons: more complex when dealing with irregular figures even in 2D
