To the extent that most of our political leaders are economically wealthy and well-connected, is governance by an economic elite in CA inevitable? Are there ways that this political dynamic could be challenged, or undermined?

According to elite theory of politics, only few influencial people and groups of people exercise defacto power in political system. Sometime one elite is replaced by the another , but still such wealthy and rich class continue to exercise power.

Economic and political inequalities in society deepens the problem of governance. Certain section of society is deprived of political power. 80/20 rule says that 20 % population controls the 80 % of resources, thus 20 % has crucial role in governance. Hence, governance by an economic elite in CA is inevitable.

How to challenge such system:

• Reducing income inequalities in society so that more people can take part in political process and governance.
• Promoting and spreading awareness.
• Accessing judiciary system to challenge unpopular actions of popular elite.
