Urinary tract infection part

1.collect detailed history of

  • Urinary habits
  • Character of urine - blood, pus
  • Dysuria
  • Oliguria or polyuria
  • Micturation
  • Fluid intake

2. Dosage

One double strength or two regular strength tablets per orally 400 to 800 mg12 hourly for 10 to 14 days

IV daily given in two to four equally divided doses for up to 14 days maximum daily dose is 960 mg

  • Store in a room temperature with a container
  • Don't miss the dose
  • Side effects such as redness, blistering, peeling, swelling on topical application others are vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps etc

4. Follow up period differ according to severity of infection. Commonly 10 to 14 days after the course of therapy.
5. Antibiotics can used to treat UTI after identifying which organism are responsible

Antibiotics are used

  • Amoxicillin
  • Levofloxacin
  • Cefofloxacin

Antibiotics can resist the bacterial growth.
