The theories we can describe as a set of principles on which the practice of an activity are based (or)

We can say it as a hypothesis or a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something,especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.

A theory is a systematic way of presenting of understanding events or situations or it is a set of concepts,definitions and propositions that explain or predict the events or situations by illustrating the relationships between the variables.Theories must be applicable for wide variety of situations in every field.

When coming to the nursing theories,these are developed from scientific and even evidence based and prooved it as carefully to become a valid data,and can be applied in the clinical field while caring with the patients.The nursing theories create a supportive frame works for patient care.

The theories can be not only helpful in the clinical practice but also it plays an important role in educating the future generation of health care providers why because it is proved and is evidence-based.

The nursing theories are one of the vital part of nursing curricula.It helps to promotes and develop the knowledge and skill of student nurses and is very helpful them when providing care to the patients.

While giving care to the patient we have to build a good communication and co-operation of the patient then only we can deal with the patient as easily as possible.Nursing is a education and as well as it is a profession that deals with with interpersonal relations.To know regarding the value of interpersonal relationship,how to build a strong therapeutic relationship with the patient based on mutual respect and to provide a better quality care and patient satisfaction we can use Peplau's theory of Interpersonal relations.

The Peplau's theory of interpersonal relatioship comprises of different phases from there first talk or meeting till the discharge.Here during the different phases of the relationship the nurse may take many roles as a care giver,resource person,health educator,counsellor and as teacher etc.

By the proper application of theory according to the patient needs we can provide a better quality care to the patient with out developing any complications they can lead to a better life and burden free of disease and get satisfaction from the care and as well as the professional nurse and or a student nurse can improve the confidence and satisfaction and self esteem by improve the quality of pactice in nursing by the application of a valid data or a theory.
