1.use of overcomplicated, unfamiliar / techinical terms
as a nurse you can overcome this by simplifying the procedures in a way a common folks can understand. keep the techiniclities to a minimum and explain the scenario in simple terms.
2.emotional barriers / taboos
some subjects can be extremenly sensitive to some individulas, inthat case you have establish a emotional bond with the patient and gain their trust beforehand .
3. Lack of attention, interest, distractions, or irrelevance to the receiver.
if you can put thorugh the message in a more intersting manner rather than i a monotonus way this can be overcomed, engageor ensur the patient participation in whatever you are performing.
4.Differences in perception and viewpoint.
this can be overcomed only if the nurse starts to think in the shoes of the patient which gives a more insight into patients emotional status and condition.
5.physicical disablities- hearing or visual or speech disabilites.
can be solved using appropriate aids, such as hearing aid, sign language, visual aids, brian literature.
6.language barriers and unfamiliar accent.
in these case a nurse can use the help of a translator or use of technologies such as online translator, unfamiliar accents can be overcommed by making the speech slow or writing down.
7.cultural differences.
this can only be solved if you have a brief understanding of pateints culture and behave accordingly, read about the same before interacting with the patient.
8.expectations and prejudices.
this can lead to false assumptions, its managed by clearly stating each and every steps and explaining about the possible outcomes of each and every step you perform.
