for the first few seconds the object is in rest because the position curve is parallel to x-axis. then it moves forward with a constant velocity because it's slope is constant for some time. then again position curve is parallel to x-axis so it again in rest. after that, it moves in opposite direction with constant velocity. constant velocity is due to the slope is constant and the opposite direction is due to the negative slope.
