Answer: The some of the causes of long term care staff turnover depends upon:

  • Deficiency in managerial skills.
  • Delayed pay
  • Poor performance
  • Poor working conditions
  • Lack of appreciation
  • Huge workload which causes burnout among staff.

To address turnover as well as plan for recruitment should be taken as there should be clear process of selections. Staff retention is important in the case of balancing the turnover. Recruitment should be done on the basis of scaled categories.

The effective steps that human resource department can take are:

  • Method of selection involves that it is important to be specific to plan of recruitment.
  • Selecting those right candidates who fits the position.
  • Long term retention hope.
  • Candidates should be enthusiastic.
  • Include benefits along with pay.

It is important to have mandatory training because every working methods gets enhanced day to day. So, it is important that staff should be update and friendly with the technologies that being used in the facility.
