Answer #1

The regular bedpan is larger than its fracture counterpart. The fracture pan has one flat end to use easily with specific patient i.e., hip fractures, hip replacements.

A bed pan is used for the toileting of a bedridden patient and is usually made of metal, glass, ceramic, or plastic. A bedpan can be used for both urinary and fecal discharge.

Fracture bedpans are smaller than standard size bedpans. This type of bedpan may be used for those patients who cannot raise their hips high enough or roll over onto a regular size bedpan.

A fracture bedpan is smaller and goes under the patient from the front as not to injure the person who has had a fracture by turning them over, (Hence, fracture pan)
Regular bed pan is larger and the patient is usually turned on one side, the pan is put under them and then rolled back on the pan. A fracture bedpan is smaller and goes under the patient from the front.....as not to injure the person who has a fracture by turning them over.
