1)a) Significance of Lab.investigstion preoperative care:-

- Routine investigation prior to surgery are considered important element for preanesthetic evaluation to determine the fitness for anesthesia and surgery.

--Abnormsl CBC helps to diagnose Anaemia, infection, inflammation, autoimmune conditions etc.PT,INR to check bleeding problems ,BMP to check the status of a person's kidney and their electrolyte and acid/base balance and blood glucose levels.

b)Medication History:-

--The half life of routinely used medications and adjustment of the dose according to the perioperative schedule must be considered.

--Many medication must be continue through the perioperative period with the last dose taken with a sip of clear liquid upto 2 hours prior to the procedure.

C)Age:-

--Elderly patients have a higher rate of major perioperative complication and mortality.

- Perioperative management of older patients poses challenges not encountered in young individuals.

d) Cardiovascular status:-

- Patient with sign and symptoms of CVS disease should undergo preoperative ECG.

-Measure blood pressure.If patient is hypertensive ,advised to continue antihypertensive medicine.

f)Respiratory status:-

- Chest X- ray should be done to rule out any pathological conditions.

- Perioperative respiratory function assessment is important to detect those patient whose respiratory function is likely to be seriously advansely affected by anaesthesia and surgery.

f) Genitourinary status:-

- Perioperative genitourinary screening culture and colonization status helps in predicting early UTI.

- Kidney function test should be done to rule out any pathological condition.

g) Integumentary status:-

- preoperative skin antisepsis is performed to reduce the risk of post operative wound infection.

- Current status of skin integrity should be checked.
