a) Goals of peer review in Nursing:

1. Promoting Patient Safety.

2. Advancing nursing practices through healthy discussions.

3. Help the nurses grow professionally.

4. Nursing collaboration and sharing insights.

5. Improving nursing quality care.

6. Identify breakdowns in systems​ and processes that contributed a problem in Patient Safety.

7. To promote evidence based interventions.

8. It fosters the culture of continuous learning in nursing practice.

b) Steps to improve peer review

1. Nurses belonging to a specific ward or specialty discusses with the same category nurses on a short periodic basis.

2. It should be clearly practice focused.

3. Feedback​ should be made timely, routine and continuous.(it helps the nurse to understand policy and correct their mistakes on time.)

4. Feedback should not be made as criticism but as face to face dialogues among professionals under same category.

5. Experienced nurses should share their valuable insights and practices with the young nurses and help them in applying critical thinking skills.
