            Acute complications of diabetes mellitus are

                   * Hypoglycemia.

                   * Diabetic ketoacidosis.

                   * Hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonkeratotic syndrome.

* Hypoglycemia.

        * It is an abnormal condition in which blood sugar level is lower than

          normal due to presence of increased amount of insulin in the body.

* Diabetes ketoacidosis.

        * It is an abnormal condition caused by inadequate amount of insulin in

          the body that result in increased breakdown of fat as energy which leads to

          production of increased amount of ketone bodies in the blood.

* Hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonkeratotic syndrome.

        * It is an abnormal condition occurs due to increased blood glucose level

          in diabetes mellitus which result in hyperosmolarity,hyperglycemia and

          no sign of ketoacidosis.
