Meaningful use has a set of standards which governs the use of health records in the healthcare organisations by the clinicians , nurses and other healthcare workers . Meaningful use has three stages :-

- data capture and sharing

- advanced clinical process

- improved outcome

All these stages of meaningful use has improved the overall quality of the patient care which is evident by :-

- better outcomes and early discharge

- improved population health outcome

- increased transparency and efficiency

- empowered individuals

- more robust research data on health system

In my organisation where I work there is a separate health care team established to look after the information system including nurses and doctors and they develop various modules related to health care along with the IT people to make it efficient and make it useful in the patient care services . And a particular nurse is scheduled to look after every single ward and to teach these modules to the other staff members . These nurses are given separate cader called NIS - Nursing informatics and with the help of these nurses we are using the health information technology effectively and efficiently in the patient care as they make the task not easy than the manual work , provide more security by provision of individual login password , and has a safe hospital developed server .
