Provide an example of using person-centered care in communicating to another who disagrees with you.
Person-centered care consists of different attitudes and principles because it depends on individual needs. One needs support and guidance on certain things whereas for the others it is undesirable. Person-centered care focuses more on individual care based on priority and needs. The plan and delivery of care are by considering the person as a whole. For example, when we are going to mobilize the older patient who needs the cane support for a walk, we have to consider the safety first. Look around for any objects or things that can injure the old man, avoid slippery floors, needs of any additional equipment and keep ready of emergency needs. Ensuring of patient's safety, comfort, and well-being is the priority of person-centered care. Person-centered care not only provides physical care but also the spiritual, and emotional well-being of the person.
