Why is it important to go green in the United states?
The day to day activities of modern human lifestyle are generating large amounts of waste daily. These wastes contain substances that harmful to both humans and environment. The wastes are also forming land fills which become a breeding ground for various pests and disease causing micro organisms. Not only the humans, the wild and marine life is also being put in danger due to our activities. The wastes and chemicals that are being dumped into the water bodies are causing death of marine aquatic life forms. So it is logical to try and produce as less waste as possible. Most of the waste produced is recyclable. By recycling the waste produced, the harmful effects of the substances in humans and nature can be minimised.
The uncontrolled usage of fossil fuels are emitting harmful gases into the atmosphere which are raising health and environmental concerns not only in the United States but world wide. The release of green house gases are resulting in global warming and climate change. This climate change is also increasing the frequency of floods, droughts, and famines. The heat waves from the sun are also having more effect on the earth due to this changing climate. The rate at which species are becoming extinct now is the estimated to be highest since the origin of life. If this continues, even more organisms will die and disappear from the earth. Eventually even human life will become impossible on earth.
There are already alarming concerns about the decrease in the population of pollinators. Without the pollinators, the plants won’t be able to produce food. This could increase food shortage which is already prevalent. Even though it takes few decades for extinction level changes to happen, the health of the humans will deteriorate increasing the burden on health care.
So in every sense and field of observation, it is very important for the United States and also the entire world to go green.
