Mass of solution = volume * density

= 51.5 * 1.0

= 51.5 grams

Q = mass * specific heat * ∆T

= 51.5 * 4.184 * ( 24.4 - 22.5 )

= 409.4 J

Moles of Zn = mass / molar mass

= 0.116 / 65.38

= 1.77*10^-3

1.77*10^-3 moles of zinc release = 409.4 J

1 moles will release = (409.4)/(1.77*10^-3)

= 230746.31 J/mol

Or 230.746 KJ/mol

Or -230.746 KJ/mol ( heat is released )
