Answer #1

1.Prioritization of care is given to patient with urgent and critical needs. Large numbers of patients expect emergency care , but being a nurse we should know how to prioritize the problems of patients to treat .Urgent life threatening problems should be treated at first.

  1. Bleeding somewhere: Apply pressure at bleeding site . Remove excess clothing or any articles. Provide rest. Bleeding is the very important condition requiring first priority nursing care .
  2. Respiration: Action of breathing is respiration. Respiratory rate is counted to note whether patient has dyspnea .Respiratory insufficiency is the most frequent cause of admission or visit for seeking emergency care . Signs and symptoms of changes in respiratory and oxygenation needs are related to lung events or not that caused a real or potential problem This is a condition that threatens one of vital functions of the human body.
  3. Chest pain: It is the topmost cause why a patient visit emergency room. Chest pain may vary from person to person. Chest pain should not be ignored. As it may be due to myocardial infarction or loss of oxygen to tissues or injury or gastritis . Medical emergencies happen following chest pain.Chest pain should be treated at first because as oxygen supply decreases in heart the myocardial tissues may die leading to ischemia dangerous than pain.It is the first complaint of patient to be attended because chest pain is associated with myocardial infarction, angina
  4. Pain: Some pain which is acute and chronic may be dangerous . Pain can be decreased by pain medications. So it is treated at first along chest pain. Any sort of pain may lead to collapse of patient.
  5. Fainting:It is a sudden as well as temporary cause leading to unconsciousness. Irregular heart beats, seizures, low blood sugar, anemia , low blood pressure and decreased oxygen supply to tissues leads to fainting. Fainting may be syncope .It is treated third as loss of oxygen to brain tissues may lead to fainting . This may be a safety issue.
  6. Dizziness: Dizziness leads to losing balance. This may be a result of vertigo, insomnia , migraine , stress , and also decreased blood supply to brain. This may be corrected and treated easily. This is also treated fourth same.
  7. Dizzy when standing:This may be due to vertigo and stress. Complete rest is necessary . This should be treated fourth as ususally dizziness when standing may be due to orthostatic hypotension
  8. Vomiting and diarrhea: This may occur due to any infection or food poisoning or any ulcer in stomach. It can be treated with intravenous fluids and medications.

2. Study of cancer is oncology. Whenever a patient is admitted with some problems that too cancer , it may have influence over health .

Patients with cancer can have decreased hemoglobin values due to chemotherapy . Erythropoiten stimulating agents (ESA) frequently were used to treat anemia in cancer patients from 1990's to till now.

Platelets are also low for cancer patients. Patients should avoid vigorous activities that could lead to trauma, always wear shoes, and use a soft toothbrush. Nurses should not use a blood pressure cuff on the patient and not perform invasive procedures as bleeding may start.
