Telehealth programs for a rural community for their health needs need nurses competence to implement the program. Most of the nurses are not trained or having insufficient knowledge to use telehealth technology. They need competencies that contribute to developing nurse telehealth education. It needs knowledge, skills, and attitude(KSA) with communication skills, ethical awareness to implement the program. Quality and safety education for nurses can bring technology and health care together. nurses knowledge and willingness to use telehealth can implement telehealth applications. The nurses training program can make telehealth program success.
Health IT support with electronic and telecommunication technologies can provide care for distant locations. Telehealth program to improve health outcomes, cost-effectiveness and care delivery. To implement this program patient-physician relationship is important through less face-to-face examination or real-time audio and video technology. Before implementing this program physician responsibility to note patient cost sharing capacity and limitations of drugs can be implemented through telemedicine. This program should include telemedicine, continuity of care, follow-up care, and emergency reference.
It is a must to protect anonymity and confidentially for the patient information. Ethical consideration focuses on patient-physician trusting relationships to make privacy and confidentiality. physician responsibility to secure patient data while receiving, storing and transferring the data. clinical specialist responsible for the security and confidentiality of electrical data. quality of health care services implemented by ethical guidelines followup and nurses competencies to improve telehealth and health IT policy followup to technology into alignment with the clinical requirement.
