Answer #1

By the age of 65 many women loss 20 -30% bone mass than before. It increases their chance of fracture. the realistic approach to the patient by explaining the benefits of good nutrition and exercise play a major role in the prevention of these diseases. this program help to make strenth. instruct the older adults about exercise programs including aerobic, strength, flexibility and balance training. advice the patient about stretching exercises that benefit their wrist from osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
Before starting the exercise program ask patients long term illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, cancer. check the patient for any symptoms of dizziness, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, fever, muscle ache, sudden weight gain, joint swelling, sore in the feet and ankle, any recent eye surgery, hernia before starting the exercise program.
Goals should be based on older adult ability, readiness and social support, and limitations. increase patient confidence, effort, the chance of goal attainment, show positive direction on reducing patient overweight. stretching exercises like wrist flexor stretch for at least 2 to3 times per week and repeated 3to4times each for holding 15-30seconds will be the goal to restore the stretch of the wrist.
Nutrition advice should be given by the registered dietitian. the right amount of calcium and vitamin D can decrease bone loss and risk of fracture. Both nutrition improves muscle strength and prevents the disease. the patient should limit the alcohol and coffee intake daily. the recommended dose of vitamin D 800-1000IU and calcium 1500mg each day.
