Answer #1

1)her height =5feet 3 inches convert height into centimeter=5 "3×30.48(constant value)=160.02cm

Weight=150lbs convert weight into kilogram=weight in pound/2.5=150/2.5=60kg

Body mass index =height in kilogram/height in meter ssquare=60/(1.6002×1.6002)

[Centimeter to meter=160.02÷100=1.6002meter]

BMI=60/2.56064004

=23.432kg/meter square

This is her body mass index according to her height and weight

2)her body mass index is normal because 18 to 24 BMI is comes under normal range

If it is 25 or greater than 25 then over weight,30 and above obesity.thus ,her BMI was appropriate for height in early stage of pregnacy.there is no over weight and obesity so she dont need to get worrie about herweight gain.

3)we should tell her that weight gain is normal in pregnancy.as she has normal weight so she may gain aroumd 25 to 35 pounds during her pregnancy.she needs that much weight as she has normal weight

Tell her to include nutritious food in her diet.be ause it is necessary for better growth and development of her baby.she should have more fruits,vegetables ,proteins,grains and cereal products .tell her in pregnancy she needs to take extra 300 kcal a day .

4)tell her to sit straightly her bed she can keep pillow in her tummy .hold the baby infront of her body take the baby in left arm she feeds from right breast same as right arm for left breast.support can be given with your hand and by keeping pillow you wont get tired and help to kee the babys position throught the feeding.Then side lying position,cradle hold postion can also used to feed the baby.

Breast feeding reduces the risk of ovarian and breast cancer in mother.moreover.oxytocin produces from breast feeding would help to return the uterus i to prepregnant state.this will decrease bleedinfg after delivery.it also assist to burn extra calories in her body.her baby gets best nutrition if she feed her.breast feeding help to keep the baby from infection.baby do not have abdomunal discomfort while feeding.

Advice her that while giving feed she should sit comftably and check the swallowing sound and characterstu s of her nipple.then she get understand that her baby is feeding right way.tell her to feed baby every 2 to 3 hours of interval .

2hrly means 12 times feeding

3 hourly eans 8 times feeding

This should be kept in mind in first six month.that time try to give breast feed only.tell her to burp the baby after each feeding to avoid vomitting and aspiration.tell her to check comp,ications of vomitting such as cyanosis ,less cry etc.
