1. According to Erikson's stage of development ,Mr. Thomas is in the middle adulthood phase of Generativity versus stagnation because he is 44years of age . It is a phase in which adult needs to create or nurture things that will outcast them ,often by having children or creating a positive change that benefits other people . Succeed leads to feeling of usefulness and accomplishments while failure leads to shallow involvement in the world.

2. Since Jane is 5years of age he is in the Erikson's stage of initiative versus guilt . Some of the signs are :-

Children need to begin asserting control and power over the environment .

Taking responsibilities to make others aware that they are big people and can take care of the problems but when failure occurs they feel sense of guilt.

3. One of the moral development theory is Kohlberg's Moral development theory

Lawrence Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development

Built on Piaget's moral development research. Children's experiences shape their understanding of moral concepts, which takes an extended amount of time. Moral development is linear. Role model needed in each stage.

Stage 1

Individual is ego-centric and not concerned with others. Rule following. Pre-conventional or primitive level.

Stage 2

Emphasizes moral reciprocity. Individuals observe moral standards because it is in their interest, but can also justify retaliation. Focused on following rules only when it is in the person's best interest.

Stage 3

Individuals define morality in reference to what is expected by those with whom they have a close relationships. Emphasis on stereotypical roles. Virtue is achieved through maintaining trusting and loyal relationships.

Stage 4

This stage shifts from basically narrow local norms and role expectations to a larger social system perspective (i.e. laws). Reflect higher levels of abstraction in understanding law's significance.

Stage 5

The post-conventional level. Ethical reasoning is shaped on the basis of general principles and is understood in accordance with underlying rules and norms. Can critically evaluate laws at this stage. Human life and human welfare are primary principles of existence.
