How do I nicely explain to my daughter while I am not trying to live through her as I adopted her and her 2 brothers wanted to be a part of their lives? She ran off with an older guy, and found out he is married and has been married before. Now, she has found out as she is pregnant he wants to travel to see his older daughter while she is 7 months pregnant cannot go to the daughter. She is not sure he told her about her and her baby so she does not know if that's why this year he is going to visit her out of town. I was not able to have a baby, and wanted to be a part of this lovely occasion with my daughter, however, the older guy stole that from me as she did not know he had a wife and child already when she left her family to move with him 6 months ago. I adopted her at the age of 4 and 2 brothers. Now she is pregnant her first boyfriend ended up being an older man twice her age with a prior wife, a current wife, and a daughter. What do I say now, as she at the last minute wants to come over for the holiday break now that he is living going to visit his daughter? For 6 months she did not want anything to do with us only after finding out he was a liar. What do I say?

Answer #1

Such incidences are now increasing day by day in our society. Adolescent is such an age were we give preference to our peers more than our parents and get traped in such conditions. Now as she wasn't aware of her boyfriends past history ,she left her home and went with him and then she came to know that he is already married and has a child . It's an critical situation and more for her because she is not even an adult who know how to deal with all this. For the parents it's an awkward moment , for them their children's are their dreams. They want them to be a good , renowned person . They do everything for them to live a easy life without problems . Even if they do mistakes they forgive them them and provides support and care because they are their parents . In this situation also , the mother should allow her to stay with her in her home and make her understand that what's the reality and try to sort the issue internally and help her to live a new life ahead .
