Answer #1

Number of employees, properties (in thousands), company owned stores are managerial accounting in nature.

Revenues (in millions), total assets (in millions), Net earnings (in millions) are financial accounting in nature.

The company seems to be in growth phase. It has added more stores in 2017. However the revenues have increased marginally only and the earnings have also marginally increased. The properties are more or less same. Total assets are also same so the company must have made use of internal accruals to buy new stores. Number of employees have also increased. The company is expecting sales in coming years to increase. 2017 has been an year of expansion of stores and the sales may increase in future. Financially the earnings have grown by a smaller proportion than the number of stores added.

2017 2016
Revenue per employee           0.09           0.09
Earnings per employee           0.01           0.01
Revenue per thousand feet           3.78           3.63
Earnings per thousand feet           0.50           0.49
