Answer #1

Answer:

Step 1: Explanation

Steps to balance the chemical reaction

  1. Write down your given equation.
  2. Write down the number of atoms per element.
  3. Save hydrogen and oxygen for last,
  4. Start with single elements.
  5. Use a coefficient to balance the single carbon atom.
  6. Balance the hydrogen atoms next and finally balance oxygen at last.

Lithium Hydroxide react with magnesium to produce lithium and magnesium hydroxide. This is a single replacement type of reaction

The unbalanced chemical equation is

Mg +  LiOH -------> Mg(OH)2 + Li

Just multiply LiOH and Li by 2

Step 2: The complete balanced   reaction is

Mg + 2 LiOH -------> Mg(OH)2 + 2 Li

Step 3: check whether reaction is balanced or not

Left side element: Mg=1, Li =2, H=2, O=2

Right side element:Mg=1,Li =2, H=2, O=2

since the element on both side of compounds are same hence the reaction is balanced.
