Air traffic controllers perform the vital function of regulating the traffic of passenger planes. Frequently, air traffic controllers work long hours with little sleep. Researchers wanted to test their ability to make basic decisions as they become increasingly sleep deprived. To test their abilities, a sample of 6 air traffic controllers is selected and given a decision-making skills test following 12-hour, 24-hour, and 48-hour sleep deprivation. Higher scores indicate better decision-making skills. The table lists the hypothetical results of this study.

18 21 20
34 23 21
27 20 14

(b) Compute a Bonferroni procedure and interpret the results. (Assume experiment-wise alpha equal to 0.05. Select all that apply.)

There is a significant difference in decision making for the 12-hour and 24-hour sleep deprivation conditions.

There are no significant differences between any of the groups.

There is a significant difference in decision making for the 24-hour and 48-hour sleep deprivation conditions.

A study compared three display panels used by air traffic controllers. Each display panel was tested for four different simulated emergency conditions. Twenty-four highly trained air traffic controllers were used in the study. Two controllers were randomly assigned to each display panel–emergency condition combination. The time (in seconds) required to stabilize the emergency condition was recorded. The resulting data and analysis results are given below. Four groups of college students underwent a sleep deprivation study. There were 6 participants per condition. They had been deprived of sleep for 0, 6, 12, or 24 hours. Afterwards, a memory test was given. An ANOVA was conducted in Microsoft Excel and the results are given in the table below. Question 2 (7 parts, 25 marks) Following your initial analysis in Question 1 above, you think that, in addition to cannabis use, road conditions may also affect driving abilities and contribute to an increased risk of road accidents. You suggest that further testing be made using 5 different road-condition scenarios in the virtual driving simulator. Your proposal is accepted and a new group of 60 individuals are solicited to participate in the study and are randomly assigned to one of...

It appears that sons of fathers who display low self-esteem tend to develop low self-esteem as well. Kuya conducted a study to test this hypothesis, since he is pretty sure that there must be a difference between the two groups, with sons having higher self-esteem than their fathers. He measured the self-esteem of the fathers and their sons using the Fearful Insecure Neurotic Emotional (FINE) test. The higher the score, the lower is the self-esteem. Is there a significant difference?...
