  • Report and safeguarding of sexually abused young pregnant woman
  • All pregnant woman should have knowledge of the location of the phc with convenient transportation
  • Provide client focused care
  • evaluate and monitor maternal and child care policies
  • Use only sterile techniques
  • Provide vaccinations in time for the infants
  • Education for girls should be compulsory to prevent teenage pregnancies
  • Advice and educate woman to avoid alcohol, smoking and encourage for healthy diet
  • Encourage for clean and safe deliveries
  • Timely diagnosis and treatment for maternal infections and other health problems related to pregnancy
  • Treatments for Sexually transmitted diseases is cost effective
  • Screening woman for syphilis helps to prevent maternal morbidity
  • Treatment for UTI, Malaria, Tuberculosis and rubella
  • Maternal Immunizations (tetanus, Pneumonia and H,influenza)
  • Prevention and treatment for anemia
  • Provision of folic acid. Provide measures to prevent anemia
  • High levels of stress can cause low birth weight. Provide measures to prevent this
  • Start prenatal care early to detect gestational diabetes and preeclampsia
  • Encourage to take whole grains, fruits, nuts and vegetables to prevent low birth weight
