A nursing consultant from the regional
office of The Laurels chain visits the nursing facility
andis horrified by the
lack of integration of technology into the daily care that the
nurses provide the
residents. She sends a memo to the facility administrator advising
the adoption of tablets as point-of-care devices. The
administrator likes the idea and implements it. A month
later, after the
tablets have arrived and training on them commenced, a veteran
nurse storms into
the administrator’s office
complaining about how difficult the devices are to use and how
they will disrupt the
care she provides residents. “I’ve gotten along fine without these
things for 35 years,”
she says. “I don’t see why we need them now.”

POINT OF CARE DEVICES are those which are used in getting diagnostic findings or results of patients. These devices are found in doctors room, hospitals, patient room to give quick feedback on various medical tests.
* As a administrator, I will ask that nurse on which thing she is facing problem. Later I will explain her in detail about including of such devices in hospital settings, their usages and benefits of that devices. I f she is not willing to accept devices I will respect her decision ad show live performance of that devices in live. To improve this new technology in care the following steps to be followed :
* Firstly it is important to make all nurses accepting for those devices
* Live demo on how device will work to the nurses
* Involving nurses to practice work with that instruments and give their feed back
* Explaining the importance of implementing point of care devices in hospital settings
* Conducting of live classes and daily sessions regarding this new technology in care of patients
* Explain about time consuming, material and man power.
