The health insurance acts as a base to help the individual in the usage of the health care services. The methods include:
* credit unions: these are member owned unions without the taxation under federal and most state laws due to their status or nonprofit organization. These credit unions actively support the local communities, some also provide the access to health insurance through a couple different avenues.
* Health cooperatives: these are not new but gained the national attention and increased due to consumer hold operation plans. These have partnership with the health care providers and occasionally the insurance companies.
* association for the self employed individuals and small busineseses: provides access through the brokers or the affiliated health insurance companies. These may also cover the major chronic diseases.
