Yes all institutions prohibit the use of personal cell phone,internet use when the employees at work.If the chance is given to use cell phone and internet at work time, then only the less number of employees only going to use it wisely.Many of those will use it only for personal purpose which makes distraction from the work.The care and quality will reduced.Chance of error at work is more.

Hospitals can construct the policy that cell phone or other gadgets to use internet should be provided only by the hospital.No personal cell phones are prohibited.They can make calls if needed also can use internet for skill and knowledge development purpose. The data usage should be routinely checked and the call should be recorded hence can control unnecessary chats in phones during work time.The hospital can construct this policy to use the electronic devices wisely for knowledge and skill development.Employees can clarify any doubts at the hospital itself by using internet.They can also study e-books and other professional related topics.

If the policy is violated the hospital can take action on the employee.The punishment for violation of the policy must informed in the policy itself.the consequences for the employees will be the act of negligence and ignorance on hospital policy and at work.So the hospital can take charge against the employee.They can take away the mobile phone from the employee.
