Answer #1

ANSWER.

* Calculation of how many units per hour of IV needed.

         Formula.

             (units/hr) = Total dose (units) / Time(hr)

        Ordered dose = 20 units/kg/hr.

Weight of the patient = 132 lbs.

      Convert lbs value to kg

                    1 lbs = 0.45 kg.

       So

          weight of the patient = 132 * 0.45

                                           = 59.9 kg

           Units/hour required for this patient = 20 * 59.9

                                                                   = 1198 units/hr.
