What is the difference between belly breathing and pursed-lip breathing?
First diff 1-In belly breath the diaphragm moves to downward by which abdominal cavity moves forward. And when the diaphragm expands the thoracic cavity or rib cage and help in to relieving shortness of breathing through deep breaths then it is called pursed lip breathing.
Second diff- Belly breathing helps to reduce bad effects of stress hormones for ex - depression, anxiety etc. And pursed lip breathing help to those who have lung diseases for example COPD, Asthma.
Third diff.3- In belly breathing, rib cage is stable (remains at a position ). And in pursed lip breathing rib cages are lifted hence they are not stable.
