A patient with Cushing’s syndrome has some characteristic physical features. The nurse can expect these during the physical examination of patient. The following are the physical features present in a patient with Cushing’s syndrome.

• Buffalo hump and supra clavicular pad of fat is seen.

• Osteoporosis is common which may lead to fractures and collapse of vertebrae.
• Ecchymosis, easy bruising, slow wound healing, thin skin and subcutaneous tissue may also be present.
