Pulmonary complications are the complications occuring to lungs due to risk of developing atelectasis, bronchospasm or pulmonary embolism after some major surgery is done. The complications mostly occurs postoperatively and are considered to be great cause of morbidity and mortality.

The nursing interventions to prevent these complocarions post operatively includes-

To follow spirometry tests regularly after the surgery to prevent advancements of any such complications

To educate patient for deep breathing excersises

To demonstrate relaxarion and continuous deeo breathing patterns to the patient

To provide adequate mental support and guidance on risks towards any complications

To monitor ghe blood gas volume and saturation on regular basis
