How can a leader in healthcare demonstrate the understanding of quality within the policies and procedures that drive the organization?

• First thing that a leader should be able to do is be a good communicator. If people don't understand what you say, they will not understand the best of demonstrations and figures that support your conclusion.
• Always state facts and figures. It is much easier to communicate numbers rather than emotions.

For example, The number of Nosocomial infections in the hospital/organisation going down or is almost negligible will show the assessment of the quality of the healthcare organisation. Or profits made by the organisation can also be demonstrated.

• Always have proof to back what you claim. Get any certifications validating the authenticity of the organisation. They usually have set standards that the organisation needs to meet.
• If possible, Show rather than tell.  
• Policies and procedures need to be transparent, not very complex; requiring minimal to no explanation. Demonstrations should be an auxiliary.
• Every person in the organisation should be clear about the goals and missions of the organisation. He/she should know what they are working for.
